Elizabeth Jones

A pale little brood
was so picky with food
and her name was Elizabeth Jones.

T'was her mother's foretellin'
that now she is smellin'
of nothing but ol' skin and bones.

This little quip came to me just as I was about to fall asleep the other night. I just had to come up with an illustration to accompany it.

Click on it to see it in better detail.

Hey nice piece. Nice use of colour to "pop" the subjects out.

As someone who was a picky eater as a child, I can identify with the girl. However, I loved grapes, bananas and apples; it was those darn green vegetables that turned me into an elizabeth jones kind of girl. Wonderful color and I love the background pattern around the frame.

this is a fantastic illo!!! i was that picky eater too- still am... now i got a 16mos old son who is so finicky... i thought i could handle it but now that i am responsible for someone else's health, other than my own, i am feeling pressured, guilty and plain frustrated that my kiddo's ribs are showing- :( the kid chugs on soooo much pediasure at night... either he dont like my cooking or he dont like food period... sigh... your illo hits a topic, for sure!!!
